Show Notes

Welcome to Spiritual Sense.

There comes a moment on the journey inward where everything begins to change… not on the outside, but within.

Meditation is no longer something you practice for a few minutes a day.
It becomes a space you naturally return to — a place of stillness, clarity, and quiet awareness.

As you go deeper, the noise of the mind begins to fade.
Thoughts lose their grip.
Emotions pass without control.
And slowly, gently… you begin to feel lighter.

This is the shift.

Not something forced.
Not something chased.
But something allowed.

“It’s time to go home” is not about leaving the world behind…
it is about returning to your true nature — the part of you that has always been whole, always been present, always been at peace.

Going into the light is not a destination somewhere far away.
It is the realization of awareness itself — clear, silent, and untouched by the constant movement of the mind.

The more you surrender…
the more you remember.

This journey is not about becoming someone new.
It is about dissolving what you are not.

So if you feel that quiet pull within you…
that sense of something deeper calling…

Don’t ignore it.

Sit with it.
Breathe into it.
Allow it to guide you inward.

Because that feeling… is the beginning of your return.

[00:00:00] Speaker A: Many blessings. Welcome to A Spiritual Sense. In today's episode, we're diving into our spiritual home. Where do we come from as spiritual beings before we come down here, into this world, into this body? So as spiritual beings, we of course have a spiritual home, just like our physical body has a physical home. I'm in my physical home now. And we like our physical home because there's home sweet home. Nothing, no place like home. And on a spiritual level, we have a spiritual home, which is our real home. And as we connect more with that, we can feel far more safe and relaxed, enjoy our life more, and also understand that this is the time to return home. This massive change in the world, and this is a very deep topic, and if we have that awareness, it totally changes our perspective to life. So it's very, very deep. And thank you for being here and many blessings and welcome. [00:01:15] Speaker B: Shireen, Many blessings to you and many blessings to our listeners and viewers. Thank you for being here. [00:01:23] Speaker A: Yay. So this is very profound. Do you want to share a little bit about the home? What's been your experience going beyond? [00:01:37] Speaker B: How deep should I go get in? [00:01:40] Speaker A: This is a deep podcast. This is what we've decided. I was just a little marketing thing for everybody, in case you're interested. We have realized that ultimately there's loads of podcasts around talking about all kinds of things. Our intention here is to go deep and talk about things that you're probably not going to hear in other podcasts. So go very deep. [00:02:06] Speaker B: All right. So our understanding in the Brahma Kumaris is that we have a home. It's like earth is here and then above, beyond the physical plane. Beyond the physical plane, there is a plane which is called the land of Nirvana, or Sweet Silence Home, or it's like this golden orange light. And in that big, huge, right? It's very big. It's a lot of space in that home. There's a small portion where all of us souls live. All of us souls mean all the souls on the planet. Eight and counting billion souls live there. And so there are two things, is one, we actually have a home. And two, in the home, each soul, every soul on the planet has a spot that is their own. So that for me, when I heard that so comforting, I was like, yay. It's like my own bed up there, right? Nice, comfy bed. I go sit in my spot and I'm great. I'm fine. And that really enhanced the feeling of home for me, is every time I think of home, I also think of my spot. It's there waiting for me. I can just go, let go of everything and come back. What about you? [00:03:48] Speaker A: Yay. Yes. Yeah. I mean, it's. I feel like in past lives I've been a sannyasi, a monk, focused. Because in. In a lot of Indian tradition, the whole thing is focus on the brahm element, which, which means focus on the. The home. And they think the home is God because this is big, big light, right? This infinite light. So I'm very comfortable with this infinite light. And I think I've spent a huge amount of time just focused on being in the light, being in the light. So I'm very comfortable with it. And what I didn't know is that God is in that light. God is not that big light. God is a light inside the light. And I also like this. I have a spot in there that is my. And I know where it is. I can see it. I can go in there and I know exactly where it is. No one can have my spot because it's an eternal thing and it's not based on anything I do here. Anything I do here can't change my spot up there because I had it before I came here and I'm going to go back to the same place after I leave. And so. Because a lot of the times. [00:05:07] Speaker B: Isn't that comforting? [00:05:09] Speaker A: Yeah, it's very comforting. [00:05:10] Speaker B: So relief. I'm like, that was such a relief for me. [00:05:14] Speaker A: What a joy that you have this sacred place that's completely yours and is always yours. It's always been yours. It's eternal, never ending and no end, no beginning, and it's stable and nothing changes and nothing moves. Ah, what a relief. What a relief. And so many religions, the whole point of the religion, if you think about it like there has different words for it. Like nirvana in Buddhism is to, you know, escape and go to Nirvana. The Hindus talk about moksha mukti. In Christianity, it talks about rest in peace. You know, these are references of this infinite light. It's a big deal. So we can re. Experience that in our meditation. And it's profoundly liberating. Is this the deepest, deepest peace? [00:06:10] Speaker B: For me, it's peace and also like a reset. A reset in that. Let's say I'm here and anything that is disturbing my peace is going on, I just quickly go there, even for a few seconds, and I come back and it just resets my thinking, right? It resets, you know what the whole big picture for me. And I like that. Like, it's one of the things that I really look forward to doing in the morning is just going home and being there, being there with the Supreme Soul. Of course, whenever I go home, that's where I am with the Supreme Soul. But that feeling, oh, this is so nourishing. This is what the soul has been craving for forever and ever and ever. [00:07:15] Speaker A: Yeah. It's the real. When we experience those states of complete freedom, it becomes very obvious. That's the thing. Like, that is the whole thing. And also on some deeper level, I think we all feel that there's some home. Because I've heard this from. I remember I was in Hawaii and there's this friend of mine and her daughter, I think she was like. Like seven or something. Seven or eight. And they've been living in Hawaii for a while, right? And she knows where her home is physically. And she's saying to her mother, I want to go home, I want to go home, I want to go home. And her mother's like, well, yeah, but we are, you know, but you could tell she's talking about something else, right? And my dad has got dementia, right. And he's been saying he wants to go home even though he's there. So I think it's like on some level, of course, people with dementia can say strange things, but many people feel like, where's the home? Where is the rest? Where am I really going to feel finally relaxed after all this stuff, you know? And even if we have our home and everything's nice and the music on and everything, there's that sense there's some deep, deep, deep safe place that we're all looking for. [00:08:43] Speaker B: You know, another thing that happens, I feel for me, when I think of home and think of going there and being there and the accessibility, right? It's accessible to me. I feel that all that is happening here in this world feels temporary. That feels more permanent. Every time I go, I feel, oh, this is my permanent residence, just here temporarily, you know. And the more time I spend there, the more I feel that, you know, oh, this is more permanent. This is permanent for me. And this is just. I'm visiting. [00:09:27] Speaker A: Yeah, it really. I mean, it is like that, isn't it? I remember I used to do when I started this practice, I was in Cambridge. And brother Prashant, he's interesting character because all he talks about really is, go beyond, go beyond, go beyond, go beyond. Right. And. And so I was like. Started off with. That was like the main thing. So I used to go to the center every. Every evening at 6 o' clock and he was. He would be like, all right, let's just go beyond, forget. Just, just. He would say things like, just for five minutes or 10 minutes, just try and just forget everything here. You can just let it go and just go into the home and just stay in that light. See how long you can stay there for without having any thoughts or any worries about anything down here. And I remember sitting there on this couch trying to like, just let it all go and it just wasn't happening. I felt like I could get, like I could get up to like the edge of the universe, but then I couldn't go beyond it. I could imagine going to the edge, but I couldn't imagine anything else. And there's. There was this candle on the table, right. I'm sitting here and there's like a big window and then there's a river and there's a candle and the sun's setting and I'm trying to go beyond, trying to go beyond. And all of a sudden I noticed that the candle stopped moving and everything went black and white. And I realized that I was in this altered state. I was completely beyond everything, seeing the whole world. Like it was this little thing over there that stopped moving. And I remember just the profound, profound relief of getting out. So it's like, it's like escaping this mad. It's like being stuck in a film that you think is real or a nightmare almost, and then you're out. And that was such a profound experience because it was really the first time I was like completely beyond. And what a healing experience, you know, just to let it go and then come back. And so it's from that perspective. It's like a total madness to think this is real, you know, from that perspective. But when I'm here, I'm like, well, I've got stuff to do. I've got to tick off my list. So many people have near death experiences, don't they? And they're caught up in their life and then they die physically. And then they go into that light a lot of the time or somewhere near the light. [00:12:05] Speaker B: It's actually very easy to go home when you go into the light like that. Right. Near death experiences are a lot easier than life. [00:12:15] Speaker A: Yeah. Because this kind of just happens like that without them. [00:12:19] Speaker B: Yeah. And it's easy to let go when you're in that state. Like, okay, because I've had so many. It's like, okay, bye. Right. To be here and to keep going home, that's the challenge. [00:12:34] Speaker A: So you want to talk about your near death experiences [00:12:38] Speaker B: some other time maybe. [00:12:40] Speaker A: But Was it a similar thing though, when you left? Was it similar? [00:12:46] Speaker B: Yes. [00:12:47] Speaker A: Going back. [00:12:47] Speaker B: I had several. And one of them, yes, one of them was about. But also before I had the near death experiences, I've had many, many experiences of home. Just going home. That was very natural for me from the get go. From the. From day one of my meditation, I could sit down and go home, no problem. It was very easy. Like the transition from here to there was very easy. And it's very easy now too. But always right. And there was this one time at 4am, we call it Amrit Vila or meditation. It was so real. This whole going home was so real. I just experienced the light, the all the lights everywhere, the souls in the soul world and everything. It was just amazing. But it's always been very easy for me to go there. But for those of you who feel it's not easy, practice will make it easy. So not to worry. It's not just, oh, I'm so special and it's easy for me, it's going to be easy for everyone. You just have to practice a little bit. But one of the things I feel that makes it hard to go home is we think everything here is permanent. We think the body is permanent, we think the relationships are permanent. We think, I'm going to own this house permanently. Everything we feel is permanent. And we know that's not true. All relationships are temporary. The body is temporary. Everything in the world is temporary. Do you know anything that is permanent in the world? It's not. And so because we are in that, Maya, the illusion of thinking everything is permanent, that's the illusion, right? It's interesting. The illusion itself is the permanence is the illusion. Because that's not permanent and because we are thinking everything is permanent, we are not able to go home. You have to come to a place of understanding that everything you see, everything you hold dear, everything you can actually hold in your hands, everything is temporary. And when you come to that understanding, then going home becomes easy. [00:15:20] Speaker A: Right? That's true. Yeah. It's. It's like it's hard to let go. The reason. The reason going home is hard is because of being attached to everything here. We're so caught up in it that it's like this other world beyond. Seems like a nice idea, but not very practical from this perspective, you know, that's why one of the things that Prashant used to say that because he always has more and more ridiculous ways of saying this that I always thought were quite funny one, when I was in England they showed a video of this. They had a picture of this pig, right. And there was like a little bit of mud on the back of the pig. And then on that piece of mud, there were these insects who put their flag and say, this is my mud on the back of the pig. And they're really attached to everything and they're setting up businesses and everything on this little tiny patch of mud. A little patch of mud on the back of the pig. And the pig's wandering around and like, so it's like if you think this whole world is like a little tiny little patch of mud on the back of a pig, it changes the angle a little bit. [00:16:29] Speaker B: Yeah, it does change the perspective. [00:16:32] Speaker A: Yeah. Because we have to have creative ways to try and get out of this because it is all temporary and it's all going to end and we're all going to die physically and everything's going to go away. And it is sort of like a bit of mud on the back of a pig when you scale out just a little bit. But even in terms of how big the universe is and all the things happening relatively, it's a tiny patch of mud on the back of a pig. And here we are. Oh, my God. Oh my God. What about this? What about this? What about this? She said this thing. It's so over the top, how caught up we are on this little patch of mud. And so the more we have that attitude, the easier it is to say, okay, beyond the pig, there's something else. There's other things outside this little pig. In Hinduism, isn't it, that they think that the world is sitting on the three legged bull? There's some story about that. [00:17:30] Speaker B: The whole, lots of stories. I'm sure there's one story, the whole version of Atlas. [00:17:37] Speaker A: Yeah, it's like, that's because it's three legs, that's why it's on a tilt. So it's the same sort of thing. Just to kind of get some perspective from it. Or like it's all a cartoon. That's another one. We, we that can be helpful. This is all a game, it's a cartoon, it's a Mickey Mouse cartoon. Whatever's gonna work, you know. [00:18:02] Speaker B: Right. One of the things I've noticed about Going Home is the connection between Maya and Going Home. So we have spoken on the podcast extensively about Maya. And so for Maya, is this just not just like a magic trick, right? Maya is not just a magic trick. Maya is the illusion, the story we are telling ourselves and tell ourselves that story over and over. Again and think it's real. And so what is this story I'm telling myself and think it's absolutely real. And so the connection between going home and Maya is every time you go home, the story you tell yourself about whatever is going on here becomes a little less significant. And so every time you go home, then whatever you're clutching, clutching in this world, you start releasing it. And you especially start releasing these Maya stories, right? These Maya things that are going on with your life. Because if I'm not happy right now, if I'm not content, if I'm not happy, if I'm not satisfied with life, if I'm not joyful, if I'm not really living, you know, in this moment, really living in this moment, that means Maya has gotten hold of your head. And Maya's clutch on your head doesn't just go away. The way for Maya's clutch to. To go away from your head is you keep going home. You keep going home. And the clutch of Maya losens a little bit and a little bit. [00:19:59] Speaker A: Yeah, that's beautiful because it's perspective on. We can't just say nothing matters. It's. It's like we have to try and shrink it down mentally and emotionally and also go beyond help shrink it down. So it's. So why don't we talk a little bit about how to do this, Keeping in mind we actually have loads of meditations. We can perhaps link them and if in our free programs and courses, if you sign up for our mailing list, we have all kinds of meditations on there on the website. So easiest thing to listen to a med meditation on this practice. [00:20:38] Speaker B: Why don't you do one? Because you really do beautiful meditations on this. [00:20:42] Speaker A: Yeah, we can do a meditation now. Yeah, I've got a whole course on this. And I mean, this is what I mostly do anyway. And this is what we all do in. So let's just take a moment to. You can keep your eyes open or close them, but it is a little bit easier if your eyes are closed and just take a few gentle breaths. You always do a meditation now. Okay. All right, let's just take a gentle breath. And as you breathe out, just breathe a little bit more slowly as you breathe out, nice long breath, relaxing the nervous system. And again, just letting yourself settle become here. And just for the next five minutes, four or five minutes, we're going to aim just to let go of thinking about anything in this world for a moment and going back home. So I want to ask yourself, I invite you to Ask yourself, are you willing to just let everything go, just for three, four, five minutes and go back into that light? So everything else you can put aside just for this short time. And now become aware that you are this powerful spiritual being behind your eyes, pure consciousness. And you are a traveler. You're a guest in this world and in the body. And you've come here from somewhere else, so you're already a guest right now. And not only a guest, you're a flying guest. You can fly, the soul can fly. And so when you're ready, just bring your awareness above the body, as if you're letting it, the whole thing go. Like you're floating upwards, like you're going up in a kite, being pulled up. And you can let go of the body, can look down on the body. Then just imagine being pulled up, up, up, like on a hot air balloon, being pulled up or flying up in a plane, getting higher and higher. And you see the whole world getting smaller and smaller, further and further away as you feel lighter and lighter, more and more relaxed. And you go all the way up beyond the Earth, beyond the stars, Beyond the sun, And you realize how massive this whole universe is and how small Earth is. Going into infinity. Endless, massive space. And then on the other side of the universe, imagine there's an edge and there's another dimension. And you go beyond, into this infinite golden sky, infinite light, like a sunset, beautiful golden red sunset that never ends. Infinite peace, Where everything is still beautiful. Radiant light, Constant silence where you're completely safe, completely free. And the whole universe is far, far away. And in this infinite light, infinite peace is God, the supreme being, who is like a shining sun, tiny point, and infinite love and peace. Blessings. Welcome, welcome, welcome from the heart. And in this light, in this beautiful home, you have your own special spot. There's all the other souls, the whole human family, everyone has their spot. And you find your special place that's only for you, where you can just rest and relax. And you're totally safe. You're so full and relaxed that you don't need to think or do anything. Just let yourself feel safe and belonging to all the souls, to God, the blissful one. Everyone is loving, peaceful, only good vibrations. Home sweet home. And then in the distance, you have this vague memory of the physical world and the planet. And as you remember it, you bring your awareness back down from this infinite light, back through into the universe and into your body. Welcome to the. To the madhouse. To the mad world we live in today. [00:28:38] Speaker B: That is beautiful. [00:28:42] Speaker A: It's wonderful. Going back home. [00:28:44] Speaker B: So tell me, what's your favorite part about going back home? [00:28:54] Speaker A: Well, it's. I feel. It's. There's. There's a feeling of having attained everything to such a high degree that there's nothing left, you know, to really feel like. Because here, there's always things that are not quite right that have to be fixed all the time, which is quite tedious. Whereas there, everything's perfect, exactly like it is. And when I'm safe and I'm home and I'm relaxed and I feel close to God, and God's light is shining on me, and everyone's good vibes, everyone is like, there's. There's only good vibes. And. And then also coming back is fun. You know, it's like, okay, well, everything now seems less of a problem than it did before, [00:29:48] Speaker B: right? [00:29:48] Speaker A: Yes. That's great. Yeah. [00:29:51] Speaker B: You know, one thing we didn't mention, and I feel we should mention, is it's time to go home. You look at the problems in the world, you look at the situation in the world, it's getting worse and worse. And you can stress about what's going on, you can stress about everything that's happening in the world, or you can understand that those are the signs telling us that it's time to go home. You. Because we aren't here permanently. We're never supposed to be here permanently. It's an illusion of Maya that makes us think that we are here permanently. We have to let go at some point, and that time for letting go is right now. Because it is time to go home. [00:30:41] Speaker A: That's right. You know, we can tell it's coming to a conclusion. Just it's not. And that, like, in the part in the past, people said, oh, you know, the world's going to end, and blah, blah, blah, and all the rest of it. The world's not actually going to end, but there's clearly a time to go back, because this is a stage, and we're at players on the stage. And this. There's only a certain amount of playing that happens at different periods in the game on any big play. And this, you can tell that because of all the military stuff and the weather and, like, something's gonna happen. It's not like someone's theory. I mean, you can see it and you can feel it. So we realize, where are you gonna go? You're gonna go back home and you'll be completely at peace. [00:31:33] Speaker B: So the end of this, I feel we are at the end of a journey on Earth. And it's really time to go home. And that is the most important message I can give right now, is it's the end of our journey right now. It's time to go home. Let's go home. Let's practice going home so it's not terrifying because it is a beautiful place to be. And let's keep going there. Just let's keep going there. In any theater, if the play is coming to an end, there's a theater, you know, a play going on. In a theater, the play is coming to an end. The actors actually look forward to going home because they know they have a home. They know they have a place, you know, where they can go and rest. And that's what we as actors need to understand. We have a home. We can go rest there. And the play is coming to an end, so that means it's time to go home. The play was never a permanent thing. The stage was never a permanent thing. So this is God's blessing for you. Gentleness. You experience the depths of yourself, the soul as sacred. Your sensitivity allows you to never hurt someone's heart. By being disconnected from your most authentic self, you strive to always be gentle by preserving everyone's dignity. So thank you for being here, everyone. And just remember, it's time to go home. Keep saying that to yourself. It's time to go home. It's time to go home. The. The place coming to an end. I want you to keep repeating that to yourself. It's time to go home. Om Shanti.
