Episode Transcript
[00:00:00] Speaker A: What if you didn't have to work so hard on yourself?
What if instead of trying to fix your health and this thought, this pattern, this relationship issue, this habit, all these different areas, imagine they're like branches of a tree.
And if you could get to the seed, then you could see, save yourself an enormous amount of effort rather than chopping off each branch or each problem and trying to fix each, leave each thought, each issue as it comes up.
If you feel like you've been trying to fix this and fix that and it just goes round and round and it's never enough and it's exhausting you, then in this session, you're going to learn how to get to the root, get to the seed, get to the essence behind everything, and come back to your original state of happiness and peace where you can manage all these problems with much more ease and grace.
So, welcome, welcome, welcome.
Today we're diving into this important topic, and Shireen, why don't you tell us a story about how you came to experience this for yourself.
[00:01:15] Speaker B: Hello, Michael.
So one of the things that I recently came back from a trip from Mexico, and while I was there, we were having several problems in the center with the AC and all of those things, and there's nothing much I could do while I was there, right? And it's the AC we got put in actually is less than a year old, and we've had several problems with it already.
And so I realized that some of the decisions I made earlier on with the ac, with who to go, and the brand and all of that, I made wrong decisions.
And I would go in this rabbit hole of if I did this and if I could do that and if that happened and this happened. And I realized that every time I was doing this, I was putting.
Creating my own prison.
And every thought was like a bar in the prison.
And also what I noticed was once one thought came, it was like, you know, those black ants, there's never one thought, like, there's never one ant.
They come in, you know, in a hoard. And I realized several thoughts were coming. And before I knew it, right? The prison was created. Like, one thought would come and then the other thought would come, and the other thought would come and the other thought would come and all these bars in the prison were all set. And I would be sitting in there and thinking, now I need to find a solution out of this, right?
And this is just one example. I have two or three examples of what happened actually, right in that time.
I realized that there was a lesson in our Morning classes and the lesson, the invitation was to experience yourself as a Master Seed.
And I started experiencing that, you know, that I created this exercise for myself of being a Master Seed. And I started experiencing that. And every time I realized that every time I was following a thought, and there's a pattern, right? As soon as I follow the thought, all these other bars were coming in. Right? Before I knew it, I'm creating a prison for myself.
And every time I followed the thought, instead of the first thought itself or even the second thought, whenever I caught myself, I would do the whole Master Seed.
[00:04:13] Speaker A: So can you explain what you mean by Master Seed? Because this is an unusual idea for
[00:04:19] Speaker B: most people I know, right?
So the invitation in the Murli in our advanced classes was to be a Master Seed.
And what that means is that.
That you at the essence of who you are, you're a seed.
And if you look at the seed, right? If you look at any seed, you know, even the biggest tree, let's say you take an oak tree, oak seed, it's not much, right? And it doesn't look much. It doesn't look like anything, any seed, right? It just is like mango seed, let's say, you know, it doesn't look like much, right?
But the essence of the whole tree is contained in the seed. Like, you plant it and you water it. The branches come, the fruit come, everything comes.
And so in the same way, we as consciousness are that seed, that inside us, there is every solution we need is there inside us. Every power we need is there inside us. Every virtue we need is there inside us.
Everything. Clarity, anything we need is inside us.
And all I have to do is I have to go into my essence and access that.
And that is what is becoming a seed, a master Seed.
Do you have anything to share?
[00:06:09] Speaker A: So there's the.
There's the Creation and the Creator, isn't it? So the seeds, the Creator, right? And the trees, the Creation. So our life with all its different branches and different leaves and people and situations and money and, you know, health issues and, like, complicated thought patterns and habits and all the rest of it, they all far down the road from the seed.
The seed contains everything. So we can try and, like, manage all these separate things, or we can come back to where. Where does it actually arise from? Like, who is experiencing everything?
[00:06:52] Speaker B: Yeah. And what I've noticed is that not only am I creating a prison, right?
And so clearly I was seeing myself once I started practicing this. The whole practice itself is wonderful. We can go through it right now is once I Started practicing it. I was like, oh, my God. Like, this is the basic foundation of everything. Like, I don't need to take every little thing and work on it, right? When someone is annoying, I don't need to think, oh, I need patience. Now let me work on patience. Oh, now I need peace. Let me work on peace. Now I need clarity. Let me work on clarity. I don't need to do all of that. I have noticed that this practice is helping me access all of them.
[00:07:45] Speaker A: Let's do the practice then. It's too good to wait around for.
[00:07:49] Speaker B: I know, right? Let's just start.
The practice is like this. First is.
Oh, one thing before the practice is if you don't have faith that you're a soul, or if you don't have faith is you're as a point of light. You know, in the Brahma Kumaris, our faith is that we are a soul and we are point of light.
I guarantee that this practice will work even if you don't have belief in it.
Just do it. Just do the practice and see if it works or not. Because it does work.
With or without your faith, it will work.
So in our understanding that we are light, this body is temporary, and I'm light. So that's the first step of the practice is you have to see yourself as light. Right here, right behind the forehead, inside the brain, inside your light. That's the first step.
The second step is you have to start making yourself smaller and smaller and smaller and smaller. Just see yourself concentrating, concentrating smaller and smaller into a tiny point, subtle light.
That's who you are.
You're just concentrating. It becomes smaller and smaller and smaller and smaller, and you become that tiny point of light.
We can stop there and see how many seconds I can be there in that being of just a tiny point of light.
Or you want to enhance the practice.
We can see the supreme seed, the supreme soul in front of us.
And seed to seed, we are connected. The supreme soul is again, a very tiny, luminous, beautiful light.
And I and the supreme soul are completely connected, still silent.
So that's the practice. It's a very simple practice, but it's a powerful practice.
And even if it's for a few seconds, you keep doing it. Instead of following a thought, just keep doing the practice.
And I have so many wonderful stories to share about that.
How, you know, in the last month or so, there were things that were happening in my life, and I felt I lost my joy and this and that, and I started doing that practice and void just came back into my Life, right? And clarity just came back into my life. But you have to keep doing it right. It's not one of those practices where you do once in the morning, once in the evening and you're done.
Every thought that you're creating a prison, you don't even realize you're creating a prison till you start doing this. Practice every thought you're doing that, then you become this. Master said,
[00:11:23] Speaker A: Ah, what a joy. What a relief, what a relief. I find personally that coming back into the essence, to the soul, to the point, is such a relief from the endless confusion of all these things.
Because we can try and fix everything.
But at the end of the day, this huge amount of work, you know, like there's this problem over here and this needs all these complicated things to solve it. And then there's this other one and then there's. And then we try and hack one off and another one comes back. You know, it's often been said it's like these evil, evil heads of a monster and you cut off one head and another one grows back and they cut off the other one. And it just, it just isn't like a whack a mole kind of situation where when does it ever stop? And there's all these things coming up so we can spend a whole life trying to fix everything one at a time.
And it's exhausting, frankly, it's exhausting.
But at the end of the day we're just trying to come back to good feelings and higher states of consciousness. And you can't be achieved through those things anyway because even if you fix one, you haven't really got to the point.
So coming back to the essence, to the seed is coming back to ourselves.
And we're seeking ourselves. We're seeking our, our higher self really all the time.
[00:12:57] Speaker B: So Michael, I have a question for you. Do you.
Is there a problem you're thinking about without you noticing your thoughts go there?
[00:13:10] Speaker A: Yeah, there's all kinds of. I mean there's.
I've noticed there's.
It's not even a thought necessarily, it's like a background anxiety that I. That it's very subtle, you know, related to various. Cuz I. I'm dealing personally dealing with like a lot of complicated technical things that need dealing with in my work. Things I haven't been wanting to look at. So I have fairly. I mean I'm trying to keep it simple, but it's fairly complicated system with all these different software and everything else.
And because I don't know exactly what's going on. In detail, it causes me some stress because I'm like, I don't. I'm not sure what's going on. Is this connected to this and is this working properly and all these things.
So that's been causing me some concern.
Yeah. So that's just one example.
[00:14:08] Speaker B: So actually, if you think about it, the background anxiety starts actually with a thought that has been repeating that you don't realize. So let's say two days ago you had a whole bunch of thoughts.
The thoughts create anxiety.
And then the next day you get up with that anxiety.
But the actual. The beginning, the basis of it is the thoughts. That happened over several days. Months, however.
Right.
And we need to go back to. Even if you're feeling anxiety, we don't need to go back to the thought if you're feeling anxiety.
Is every time it starts, right. Every time that feeling of anxiety starts, that we do this exercise is you see yourself as light, right here inside, you see yourself as light.
And this is a very important step.
The energy is everywhere. We are thinking about everything. Consciousness is. All of this is going on, right. We need to bring all. All of that inside and just become smaller and smaller and smaller and smaller and smaller and become that point of light every time you have the anxiety, Right. Even if for one second you interrupt the anxiety with this practice where you become smaller and smaller and smaller and smaller into this very subtle point of light.
You will notice after a few days what a wonderful difference that makes.
You can continue with the next step, which is see the supreme point of light and connect in all of that.
But even just this much, just becoming smaller and smaller and smaller and becoming that point of light really helps.
[00:16:28] Speaker A: Yes. It's a miracle practice. It really is.
[00:16:31] Speaker B: I feel it's a foundational practice and it is a miracle practice.
[00:16:37] Speaker A: Yeah. Because it's. It's the foundation, essentially, is, do I need to fix everything in my life to feel good?
Or can I just come back to myself, which is the cause of everything.
But, you know, because that's the bottom line, isn't it? Is that we are the creator of our reality.
We're not the victim of our creation. But it. It seems like we are sometimes if we forget who we are.
So all of these things come from ourselves, don't they? I mean, where else does it come from except because it's all our experience of everything. It's my perception of my life that's stressing me out
[00:17:22] Speaker B: and that we are the creator of our own thoughts and we imprison ourselves all the Time, all the time.
It's like almost like we are creating something. We are giving it life and that, you know, Think of it like a voodoo doll, right? You give it life and then you are the one who start poking the doll and you feel the sorrow.
And we imprison ourselves. Like even the feeling is imprisoning us, right? Like, let's say anxiety is imprisoning us, you know, before we know it, we are just like, you know, in. In this imprisonment.
[00:18:08] Speaker A: And there's no, there's no real solution to fix everything individually because it's.
If I was to get a piece of paper and say, here's all of my problems in life, you know, it's a reasonably sized list, and then here's all the things that I want to have in my life, that's going to be another huge list. And here's all the things I have to do to solve all of my problems. This is a massive list, you know, and then that's going to cause anxiety, isn't it? The length of it.
Like I'm like 10 years away from fixing everything I want, you know, in that sense, it's a total disaster, isn't it?
[00:18:49] Speaker B: The invitation I have for my. For our listeners and viewers is that we just need to practice, right? Take a few days, okay? You've tried the method of trying to solve all the problems and trying to be peaceful and trying to be patient and trying to be this and trying to be that. We've done that, right? I want you to try this because it really worked for me. It really worked for me because I was not in a good space, you know, working too much and this and that, all these issues going on. And I started doing this and I was like, I don't know if the issues are fixed, but I'm fine, It's fine.
[00:19:28] Speaker A: As far as I'm concerned, it's all
[00:19:30] Speaker B: good, it's all wonderful. It's all benefit in the drama, right?
[00:19:35] Speaker A: Yeah, it's like everything's. If everything's fine, if you feel it's fine on many levels, that's where it comes down to, isn't it? Because something could be fine and we feel bad about it, and then it makes it not okay, you know, even if it's okay. I mean, many people in this modern world have serious anxiety about things that are not related to their direct life right now as fears of the future and fears of something trying to fix something they can't. But, you know, most of us are safe and have something to eat and we're all right, you know, in many ways, but the mind causes all this terrible suffering because it's trying to fix it in the wrong way.
So this is a. This is like a magic switch to turn and turn it all off and feel everything's fine.
[00:20:23] Speaker B: Because in a way, it is fine.
It is a magic switch.
What I've noticed is.
Makes us very defensive, anxiety makes us very defensive.
And I'll tell you, I'll give you an example.
Let's say I.
You're my opponent in a debate, right?
And we are going into a debate, right? Going into a debate with each other.
And I want to defeat you at all costs.
So as soon as I go in to the room with you and I'm sitting across from you, the first thing I say to you is, Michael, you have bad breath.
What's going to happen?
Whatever your plan was to talk gets interrupted and you get on the defensive.
And the whole debate, you will be thinking, do I really have bad breath?
And you will not be performing at your best.
And so this kind of problems that we bring onto ourselves, anxiety, whatever is going on in our lives, we bring onto ourselves.
It makes us very defensive.
I have a plan for my life, and it just interrupts my plan for my life. It doesn't help us perform at our best because I have to do the work anyway. But if I'm doing the work, you have to debate anyway. But if you're debating with thinking, oh, really, do I have bad breath? Then you're lost, right? Like going in, I have made you so defensive that you will lose. And that's what these background noises in our life, right? There's so much noise that is our own creation, like anxiety, or my own creation of whether I should have done this or should have done that about the AC or this should have happened and that should have. It's my own creation.
By the way, our AC is still not fixed.
It's my own creation, though. It doesn't need to affect me this much because I still have to live. I still have to find a solution. I still have to optimize at my best, and that is preventing me from doing it.
And so what I've noticed is this practice interrupts that, right? If I do enough times. This is another thing. This practice is one of those things you can't do once in the morning and once at night. Doesn't work that way.
You pick something, and every time that comes up, every time that background noise is coming up, whether it's a thought or whether it's an anxiety or Whether it's stress or whatever it is, you have to do this. You have to interrupt and you have to do this. And sometimes tens of times in a day, you have to do it. And then you will see the difference.
[00:23:52] Speaker A: Ah, what a blessing. So this is our challenge to all of us. Wonderful opportunity is to.
Instead of trying to fix every single thing, which frankly is not possible and extremely draining, just come back to who you are. There's a point, a tiny little point of light, and this is all a game. This is like a. A game happening here. We're actually safe.
The reason this is so powerful is because when we realize we're safe because we're eternal beings, then we don't have to fix everything to feel better, because we've come back to a beautiful state of consciousness, which is what we're looking for anyway.
So become a tiny, tiny point. I remember when I first experienced this. I was meditating in England years ago, and I was ex. I was practicing just being this point, just this point. I would like this practice.
And I remember I had such a profound feeling of total freedom that I started laughing out loud and my friends in my house wondering what was going on because I was just like. Because it brings so much joy. Because you're like, oh my God, it is. It's like completely waking up out of a hypnotic trance months, you know, instead of.
Because this, this is very oppressive. I have to fix this, and I have to fix this. And this isn't right. And this isn't right. And this isn't right. And the truth is, most of our problems, if we're honest, can't be solved permanently.
Like there's no permanent solution to almost anything. You know, like if you fix one thing, there's another problem related to that down the road, you know, like if you have relationship issues and you get rid of the people in your life, then you feel lonely. So that's another problem, right? Or if you change your diet because you don't want. You want to lose weight or something, then you've got another problem where you have to eat food you don't like, and then you have to suffer from that. You know, you have to do exercise, and I don't want to do it. So, like everywhere you go, there's some weird side effect or some. Some strange, like, secondary, dark, weird thing that comes out of it. Another twig comes out, another thorn comes out.
So this is basically saying we're not going to fix everything.
There's no permanent solutions to anything.
But we can wake up.
[00:26:24] Speaker B: I'M thinking of the examples you're giving. They're funny.
There's one other thing though, is even if there is a solution, there isn't a solution from your prison.
There isn't.
You have to be outside still another prison, isn't it? You have to be outside.
You cannot fix the problem from inside. And this seed, it's a master. Think of it as the reason why it's called a Master Seed, is that there is a supreme seed and we are mastering being the Seed. Right? So think of it as a Master Seed technique. And the more you do it, the more good you get at it and the more it reinforces this wonderful liberation in your life. I promise you, you will be liberated in life.
Is just become that seed. Even for a few seconds. You have to interrupt. You have to interrupt the feeling. You have to interrupt the thought. You can't keep creating a prison for yourself.
[00:27:29] Speaker A: Yeah. So instead of thinking I have to fix all these things first, then I'll feel better, you say, that's just nonsense. That's never going to happen.
Let me just experience that. I'm a tiny point of light who's completely free now.
And then everything. You still have to do stuff, but you won't feel so disturbed about it. You know, that's. That's the magic of this is that it's not like everything goes away, but it doesn't seem so heavy and annoying anymore.
Because, I mean, I experience this on a regular basis where.
Where I'm especially working with some of these AI things that are really powerful but also a bit tedious. I'm like.
And then I come to realize I'm a soul and it doesn't matter. And then it seems fun again, you know, so it goes from stress to humor in a way, and freedom and it. It can happen in a second. But because we're. We're never going to solve everything realistically, the mind can always come up with another prison.
[00:28:34] Speaker B: Yes. Yes.
[00:28:37] Speaker A: And even if we get everything we want, there's always more or there's always something wrong. I mean, I know so many people who have loads of money and this and that and this and that and. And they're getting stressed out about stuff, you know, oh, something, something, and blah, blah, blah. And my plane got canceled and whatever it was.
So it doesn't matter what we have.
We can always make up some something.
[00:29:03] Speaker B: There's never enough, is there?
That's never enough.
[00:29:06] Speaker A: Never enough. And there's never going to be. The mind is never going to be satisfied no matter what. It gets for any length of time.
[00:29:14] Speaker B: It's actually a very big overthinking problem we have, which we can do another episode on that because I've been really working with the mind these days.
And this is one of the techniques that really helps.
We have a huge overthinking problem in our lives and just becoming the seed.
And this technique of becoming smaller and smaller and smaller. Right. You have to just bring all of the energies inside, totally inside, inside, inside.
And just become that point of light.
And your belief is not required for it to work.
[00:30:05] Speaker A: Proof's in the pudding, after all.
[00:30:07] Speaker B: Yes. So you want to lead us on a thing, Michael?
[00:30:12] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, exactly. And we're. We're. I was talking to a friend of mine who wants to start a group called Thinkers Anonymous.
Because thinking itself is a problem for me. I mean, there's all these extra thoughts. So this is in a way, like instead of maintaining the addiction to try and fix everything, we're surrendering and letting it go.
So I'd be. There doesn't exist to think is anonymous. But if there was, I think it would be a good thing to join.
So let's do a little practice.
So just notice how you.
You're feeling right now. Just notice whatever's coming up for you.
And there's probably all kinds of things that are unresolved in your life. Just bring into your awareness these various branches of your life that have various things related to them and thoughts about them and people and money and situations and health and relationships.
And that's the.
The tree of your life. That's the creature. And now we're going to get.
Instead of fixing anything, we're going to come back to the seed. And imagine you get smaller and smaller and smaller.
It's like shrinking everything down, shrinking the whole thing down. So instead of it being this big problem, it becomes smaller and smaller. You become smaller and smaller and smaller. And everything just gets so small that it turns into just a tiny little point of light.
Just a seed, A point of infinite peace.
An eternal, tiny, beautiful point of light.
There's nothing left except that tiny, powerful shining point.
And you're completely free and safe.
And you're connected with the supreme seed, the seed of the source of all love and power and bliss.
Everything you want is in that seed and in your seed.
And you just feel that loving connection, loving vibration, loving relationship.
There's nothing to fix, nothing to solve.
You put a full stop. Everything's cancelled.
It's just a point.
And you are the master. Creator, Master Seed.
And welcome Back to the great game.
The great game.
What a relief.
[00:34:33] Speaker B: That is beautiful.
I feel I should just do that practice.
And what I've noticed, I've noticed is
[00:34:45] Speaker A: 108 times a day.
[00:34:46] Speaker B: 108 times a day. What I've noticed is once you start doing it, you catch yourself mid thought, mid feeling.
[00:34:56] Speaker A: Right.
[00:34:57] Speaker B: Mid overthinking and you're like no, no, let me go do it. And you're able to do it while you're doing other things.
Right. It's like just even for a few seconds, you interrupt it and it's like it. You really gain back your power.
[00:35:20] Speaker A: Yeah. Because the power is going out into these branches and it's very draining.
Very draining.
[00:35:27] Speaker B: If you think about it. If you want to water a tree, you will water the, the seed, the roots. Right. You're not going to go and water each branch and each leaf. Each not going to do that.
And because that's not going to work.
And so when we go to each problem and find a solution, it's like we are watering each branch, each leaf because that doesn't work.
I mean even if he finds one solution, like you're saying, we'll find hundred other problems.
And so it's not like a long term sustainable solution.
[00:36:12] Speaker A: Yeah. And not only that, when we are feeling bad about something, it destroys our potential.
[00:36:19] Speaker B: It really puts you in the defensive.
You don't work at your optimum.
[00:36:27] Speaker A: Nice. We all have like, we have skills, we have knowledge, we have, you know, inspiration to do things right in our life, to fix problems and whatever. But if we feel bad about it, if we're stressed out about it, it's like putting one foot on the gas and another foot on the brake. That that bad feeling blocks our potential.
So we actually are unable to even solve the problems very well. If we're stressed out about the problem, it makes it harder. It makes that removes the flow and the grace and the ease that would make it much easier to manage things.
So this is a very, very practical thing. It's not a spiritual bypassing where you're ignoring things. You're just coming back to the power and the peace that then allows the certain smoothness and ease to happen.
So welcome, welcome to this new experience.
Try it out for yourself, Master Seed.
[00:37:33] Speaker B: You're going to try it out. Michael.
[00:37:37] Speaker A: I have been practicing this in a, I've been practicing it under different word three points. Which the same thing in a slightly different way. We can have another episode on the three dots.
This is same sort of thing, but we have to have fresh, fresh energy on, on these things in different, different ways.
So Shereen has a special blessing for us based on our book God's Blessing for you. What do we have today?
[00:38:05] Speaker B: Balance.
This is God's blessing for you. Balance.
You're living a balanced life that emanates well being, radiates optimism and is guided by clarity.
Like an innate compass, you instinctively know how to allocate time for your personal nourishment and other responsibilities equally.
[00:38:41] Speaker A: Become a point and everything will be all right.
[00:38:43] Speaker B: I know. You will know. We'll keep a balance.
[00:38:47] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah. The balance normally is work, work, work, work, work, but not enough becoming a point.
[00:38:55] Speaker B: And also once you become a point, you will know what to do, right? You will just know exactly what to
[00:39:00] Speaker A: do because the seed has the solution inside of it and there's no end. There's no end to trying to solve problems one at a time. It really is not going to happen.
